County failed to hit the heights of their semi-final performance against Celtic as they fell to a 3-0 defeat by Dundee United.
Vigurs told Press Association Sport: "The boys have done brilliantly to get here. The boys are down but what we've said is that we have had a terrific season."
He added: "We are only the fifth First Division side to get here since the war, which is some achievement.
"There were a lot of new boys that came in, including myself, and we just clicked straight away.
"To do that and to finish how we have finished is a great season for us, and that's how we see it.
"Bringing just under 20,000 Ross County fans is incredible. They were brilliant throughout the game.
"Unfortunately they couldn't give us the lift we needed, but it was an amazing occasion. The whole day, the lead-up to the game has been brilliant.
"But we are disappointed that we haven't performed the way we should have."
