So far this summer Ross County have added five new players to the squad, while several players have departed the club

Ross County's manager - Derek Adams - has been working hard early in the summer transfer window and has added five players to the squad for the coming season.

First to join the Staggies was Paul Di Giacomo from Airdrie Utd.  Derek Adams made an attempt a few weeks ago to sign the 26 year old forward, but at first it looked like the deal was a non starter as newspaper reports suggested the player wanted to stay local to the central belt, but these reports were inaccurate as the a few days later the player signed for County.

Gary Miller was next to sign up, the right back played at County on loan during the 2007-8 season when County won the Second Division, but he opted for a return to Livingston for the whole of last season.  With his contract expiring at Livingston, and combined with the obvious financial troubles at the Almondvale club - no new offer was made to Miller by Livingston, so Derek Adams was quick to step in and make an offer which was accepted.

The next two players to sign were midfielder Iain Vigurs and forward Gary Wood, who both signed from Inverness CT.  It has been the usual over the past few years that players have gone the other direction over the Kessok Bridge, but this year after Caley's relegation from the SPL, County have moved to sign up two players who were released by Caley's mager Terry Butcher.  21-year-old Iain Vigurs is highly rated by the Caley fans (although obviously not so much by their manager) and played quite a number of games for the Inverness side in last season's ill-fated SPL campaign.  Also at 21-years-old Gary Wood had fewer apperances, but still managed to score twice last season, and at 6'3" tall will surely be a handful for the First Division defenses this season.

The newest player to join the Staggies is 25-year-old Stewart Kettlewell, who joins the club after he and the rest of the Clyde squad were released by the Cumbernauld side.  The midfielder only spent the one season with Clyde after the snapped him up from Queens Park where he impressed in all his games against County in season 2007-8.

There will be another two new faces in the County team in the form of right back Graham Girvan and forward Ross Grant who were both promoted to the first team from the clubs youth set-up.

However despite all these new faces there has also been a few departures over the summer.  Leaving the club were Dyron Daal, Adam Strachan and Craig Gunn who have all been released by the club.  Andy Dowie has left to join Dunfermline, Martyn Corrigan has joined Partick Thistle while Sean Higgins and Richie Hart have left to join Dundee.
Striker John Stewart has also been placed on the transfer list, but at present remains a County player.
